Students in Action!

For yesterday’s photography class, we decided to take an outing to Cox Arboretum for some photography.  Cox is a beautiful Metropark not far from the Dayton Mall, and boats large flower gardens, ponds, a stream and even an “edible landscape” vegetable, herb and fruit garden.  It’s always a great setting for photography, and we weren’t disappointing again yesterday.  The unusually mild weather help contribute to an awesome photography outing.

While we got a number of beautiful images, and we’ll share them later, here’s some we captured of our students in action!

CincyPaddlers Kayak Pool Practice

Since we’ll take any opportunity to put on the scuba gear and get out the underwater camera equipment, we took the opportunity last week to join the CincyPaddlers for their bi-weekly pool practice last week (July 15, 2014) and get some action shots of the practice in progress.  We finally got the color correction finished!  Enjoy:

Our model will come prepared with multiple “looks” and each photographer will take turns working with the model for a number of shots.   Once each photographer has had a chance to photograph each “look”, the model will change.    After the event, within two weeks, each photographer is expected to provide a disk of images to the Art Center to be given to the model for use in her portfolio.  Photographers will have permission to use their images for portfolio use as well.  No commercial use of the images is permitted by any participating party.  A “trade” agreement is expected to be signed by all participants.  The event is limited to a maximum of 20 photographers to ensure sufficient time for participation.

In order to ensure sufficient help and space, RSVP is requested but optional.  Walk in participants up to the event limit will be accepted.  Again, all photography skill levels are welcome.  Photographers should ensure that their camera has a hot shoe or PC connector to trigger the flash equipment.   Triggers, cables, flashes and other lighting accessories will be provided.  If you have questions on the event, you can reach us at sales@weigoldphotography.com.    To RSVP and pre-register for the event, please use the button below to pay the $10 participation fee.   We look forward to seeing you at Studio Night!

Studio Night Images – November 21, 2013

This past Thursday’s Studio Night at the Middletown Arts Center was probably our best yet!  The model we originally had scheduled failed to confirm, but fortunately returning model Kenzie was ready and able to help out.   We welcomed some returning photographers and were also pleased to welcome some new comers, at least to Studio Night, from the West Chester Photo Club!  Thank you to everyone that participated!  Watch for our next studio night coming in January 2014.  Here’s some sample shots and a behind the scenes look at the event:
